Warner Music Central Europe boss Bernd Dopp steps down after 37 years

Bernd Dopp, long-time Chairman and CEO of Warner Music Central Europe, is leaving the Warner Music Group (WMG) after 37 years with the Major.

Dopp is handing over the management of Germany-based Warner Music Central Europe to two co-presidents: Doreen Schimk, Managing Director, Media & Brands, and Fabian Drebes, Managing Director, International. The duo will take over Dopp on October 1st.

Warner Music will be the first major label in Germany to be run by a dual leadership.

Dopp is the second veteran Warner Music record label boss in Europe to leave WMG in the last 12 months after former Warner Music France boss Thierry Chassagne retired last October.

WMG confirmed that Dopp’s exit in terms of financial results comes in Warner Music Central Europe’s best year.

Bernd Dopp is the longest serving member of the BVMI (German IFPI) board. He will continue to work as Senior Consultant to WMG beyond October.
