LONDON (Reuters) – UK retailer Marks & Spencer (OTC 🙂 will sell 800 grocery products, including Percy Pig candy and luxury gold tea bags, online in over 150 new countries after partnering with export platform British Corner Shop It was said on Wednesday.

M&S, after decades of failures in the midst of its latest attempt at reversing the trend, said in May that it aims to more than double its online retail sales by working with partners and expanding into new markets.

It hopes to benefit from a consumer shift to online shopping accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Via the British Corner Shop platform, customers from the USA to Australia can buy a tailor-made range of M&S foods and have them delivered in one to three days.

The platform, which offers over 6,000 household brands in total, saw over 140% growth between March 2020 and 2021.

The deal follows the recent expansion of M & S’s websites to offer localized clothing and homeware ranges to customers in over 100 different markets.

Steve Rowe, CEO of M&S, believes the pandemic masked the 137-year-old company’s progress in its turnaround.

Last month, chairman Archie Norman predicted the group would surprise people with its financial performance.
