2021 has been a busy (and expensive) year for New York-based Round Hill.

In March, Round Hill signed a global agreement with country songwriter and producer Zach Crowell to acquire and manage his music release catalog, neighbor rights (through Sound Hill, Round Hill’s neighbor rights division), and producer royalties.

In February Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall, founding members of the Bristol-based band Massive Attack, sold the catalog to their first five albums, which were released between 1991 and 2010.

As MBW reported at the time, further acquisitions of a UK-listed Fund managed by Round Hill followed in February, which acquired over 18,000 songs from another US-listed Fund managed by Round Hill at a cost of $ 282 million.

This included 446 compositions in the GIL / GPS catalog that included Beatles classics like She Loves You, I Saw Here Standing There and more, as well as songs by The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, John Lee Hooker, Pat Boone and others by Ricky Nelson.

In March, MBW reported that Round Hill Music had its best-ever market share performance for radio hits in the US in the fourth quarter of 2020.

According to Billboard data, Round Hill was 6th with a 3% share of the top 100 most popular radio hits of all genres in the quarter – behind BMG (No. 5), Warner Chappell (No. 4) and Kobalt (No. 3), UMPG (No. 2) and Sony Music Publishing (No. 1).Music business worldwide
