Ritch Sibthorpe named MD for Northern Europe and Australasia at hi-res music streaming service Qobuz
High definition music streaming platform Qobuz has opened a new office in the UK and has appointed London-based Managing Director Ritch Sibthorpe to oversee the Northern Europe and Australasia region.
Sibthorpe’s appointment comes nine months after the company raised $ 11 million to fund its global expansion.
Qobuz also recently teamed up with French digital music distributor TuneCore to make music from its list of artists available via the high definition streaming and download service.
Sibthorpe’s career spanned 20 years. She started out in music journalism and brand PR before joining Warner Music Group as Vice President, Digital Marketing and Content Partnerships.
There he supported Atlantic Records, Nonesuch, Rhino, Warner Music UK and Warner Records.
Sibthorpe then became Managing Director of Disney Music Group EMEA and led the company’s regional music, music publishing and live music businesses, including Disney Music Publishing, Hollywood Records and Walt Disney Records.
Most recently, he led global marketing and PR for the Chelsea Football Club’s Digital Ventures unit.
Elsewhere, Fabian Sautier joined the company as Chief Brand Officer and Pierre Largeas as Managing Director for Southern Europe, both based in the company’s Paris headquarters.
Fabian Sautier will lead Qobuz’s global brand, digital, media, PR and creative marketing campaigns while Largea will manage commercial and operational activities to support sales growth in France, Italy, Spain and related markets.
Largeas previously held positions at Airbus, Henkel, Jumia Group and iziwork.
Sautier brings 12 years of international experience in strategic marketing, product development and innovation in various consumer goods industries.
Before working as Marketing Director for Under Armor in France and Southern Europe, Sautier worked for L’Oreal as Director of Global Marketing for seven years.
