Janelle Monáe indicators world cope with Sony Music Publishing

Sony Music Publishing has signed an exclusive, worldwide management agreement with Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, actress and activist Janelle Monáe.

Janelle Monáe, who has eight Grammy nominations, co-founded her own label Wondaland Arts Society, which recently launched its production arm Wondaland Pictures.

As an actress, Monáe starred in films such as Moonlight, Hidden Figures, Harriet, The Glorias, the television series Homecoming and most recently in the horror film Antebellum.

Next, Monáe will begin filming the sequel Knives Out 2.

Lately Monáe has been working on new music with hit songwriters and producers Nate “Rocket” Wonder and Chuck Lightning, both of whom are also signed to Sony Music Publishing.

Wonder and Lightning have long worked closely with Janelle and are widely known for their work as the core architects behind Janelle Monáe’s Afro-Futurist album manifestos: Metropolis: Suite I: The Chase (2008); The ArchAndroid (2010), The Electric Lady (2013) and Dirty Computer (2018).

Grammy-nominated Nate “Rocket” Wonder is a co-founder of the Wondaland Arts Society and is known for his long-time co-producer and co-writer with Janelle Monáe.

He is also a member of the seditious duo Deep Cotton, a punk-funk group.

Wonder recently dubbed his first feature film, Antebellum (2020), with Roman GianArthur.

He also produced Janelle Monáes turntables for Stacey Abrams and Lisa Cortés and Liz Gabrus directed the documentary All In: The Fight For Democracy. He plans to release his debut album this year.

As the Co-Founder / Chief Creative Officer of Wondaland Pictures and Wondaland Arts Society, Chuck Lightning is widely known for his longstanding work as a co-producer and co-writer with Janelle Monáe.

He has worked on several Monáe projects, including the film Dirty Computer (2018). He is currently writing and developing several cross-genre film projects, including the horror film Black Apples; the gangster love story Mad Crazy Visionz; and The ArchAndroid – a science fiction film based on Janelle Monáe’s album The ArchAndroid.Music business worldwide
