The HYBE subsidiary Big Hit Music is looking for new producers with the audition of Big Hit Music as part of its Next New Creator (NNC) 2021.
Since the NNC project was founded in 2016, Big Hit has discovered producers both in Korea and overseas and “given them the opportunity to showcase their musical skills.”
Big Hit says it is “looking for a producer ready to step onto the global music industry stage”.
Producers must specialize in pop music and anyone can apply regardless of age, education or experience, the company said.
Under “Preferences” the poster says: “A producer with an excellent understanding of the global music market and trends”.
Producers should submit between 2-5 demos, a complete track with melody and lyrics, or just the track itself. Both individual and team contributions are welcome.
Demos should also “sound sufficiently competitive in the global music market (with the potential to rank on the major global music charts) to show the best of your talents and preferences,” the letter recommends.
After the submission deadline, applicants who pass an internal review process by Big Hit producers will be contacted and entered into the main competition. There may also be a Songcamp evaluation during the main competition.
The final winner, either individual or team, will receive a grand prize of KRW 5,000,000 (approximately USD 4,500 based on current Financial Times exchange rates).
The winner may also have the opportunity to work as an in-house producer on Big Hit.
Online applications opened earlier this week on May 17th at 10am KST and can be submitted via the website here.Music business worldwide
