Tech billionaires Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey have agreed to discuss bitcoin at an event in July.
On a bizarre Twitter thread, Musk responded to a tweet from Dorsey promoting an event called “The B Word,” which aims to encourage corporations and institutional investors to adopt Bitcoin.
“Bikurios?” said the Tesla CEO, apparently referring to the “B” word in question.
In response, Dorsey said on Twitter, “Bizarre! Let’s have a chat at the event. You can share all of your curiosities … “
Musk agreed. “For the Bitcurious? Well, we’ll do it then, ”he said, to which Dorsey later replied:“ Done!
The event takes place on July 21st, according to its website, and “provides the investor community with a live experience and a content library that enables a more informed discussion about the role Bitcoin can play for institutions around the world.”
Musk’s comments have put Bitcoin investors on a wild ride lately. The eccentric Tesla boss initially supported Bitcoin and briefly added the hashtag #bitcoin to his Twitter bio in January.
He also posted a meme suggesting that he hasn’t fallen in love with Bitcoin anymore.
But earlier this month, Musk said Tesla would accept the cryptocurrency if it was confirmed that at least half of Bitcoin mining was powered by clean energy.
Bitcoin fell below the all-important $ 30,000 mark on Tuesday, briefly wiping out all of its 2021 gains. The digital asset has since surged back above $ 33,000 but is still up nearly 50% from its all-time high of nearly $ 65,000, which it hit in April.
