The UK government is setting up a central bank digital currency task force

Her Majesty’s Treasury Department and the Bank of England have begun preliminary studies on central bank digital currencies that could lead to the creation of a national digital currency.

In one document The Treasury published by HM Treasury announced the creation of a CBDC task force in collaboration with the UK Central Bank.
