The label S-Curve Records has restarted through a new global partnership agreement with the Disney Music Group.
The current S-Curve artist and multi-platinum singer Andy Grammer is the first signing of the label, other (currently unannounced) artists will follow.
S-Curve’s previous catalog remains with BMG, which bought S-Curve’s music assets in 2015 (and will buy many more music rights through its recently announced alliance with investment giant KKR).
S-Curve Records and the Disney Music Group have been working together for several years, with DMG’s promotion team working with several S-Curve Records artists, including Grammer and its four-time platinum single Honey, I’m Good.
Since Grammer’s self-titled debut album, the artist and singer has set eight records in the charts, starting with the singles Keep Your Head Up and Fine By Me.
His 2014 album Magazines or Novels went gold and contained the singles Honey, I’m Good, and the platinum-winning Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah).
The first single Fresh Eyes reached platinum status on The Good Parts from 2017 and generated over 350 million streams.
On the 2019 album, Naive’s first single, Don’t Give Up On Me, went platinum. The song was also used in a campaign for ESPN’s 13th annual V-Week for Cancer Research, which earned Grammer a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction and a Clio Award.
Grammer will release the single Lease On Life on June 28th under the exclusive license of Grammer and manager Ben Singer (Giant Soul Records) of S-Curve and Hollywood Records.
“Andy Grammer had more hits for S-Curve than any other artist in the 21-year history of the label.”
Steve Greenberg, S-curve
Steve Greenberg, Founder and CEO of S-Curve, said, “We are very excited to be opening this new chapter in S-Curve history in partnership with Disney Music Group.
“We’ve worked nine platinum hits with their pop promotion staff in the past six years, and I think our new, deeper partnership with DMG is going to lead to very exciting things.
“Nothing could be more perfect than starting with new music by Andy Grammer, who had more hits for S-Curve than any other artist in the label’s 21-year history. Andy is a really inspiring artist and I’m sure the best is yet to come. “
“Steve’s musical acumen and attention to detail are truly remarkable.”
Ken Bunt, Disney Music Group
Ken Bunt, President of Disney Music Group (DMG) said, “Steve’s musical acumen and attention to detail are truly remarkable, and we are very excited to be working with him and his S-Curve label, and Andy Grammer officially at DMG -Family.
“We have worked with Andy for many years, supporting his incredible music on the radio, and we are honored to be able to extend this relationship to the rest of the company.”
“As an artist, you rarely have partners who are really committed to promoting creativity.”
Andy Grammer added: “I am really excited about the collaboration between partners like Disney and S-Curve with my manager Ben Singer and me on our label. As an artist, you rarely have partners who are really committed to promoting creativity and sharing it on a global level. “
“We knew this was the best home for the work ahead.”
Ben Singer said, “We have had so many wins over the years with Steve Greenberg and Ken Bunt that we knew this was the best home for the work ahead.
“Andy always seems to deliver too much in the heart and pop magic categories and this next album is no different.”Music business worldwide
