There has been a big change at Warner Music Group (WMG).

Just months after joining Sony Music, Cat Kreidich was promoted to president of ADA Worldwide, WMG’s independent label and artist services company.

The well-respected manager will now oversee a number of operations at Warner that serve the independent community, including ADA, the Asylum Label, and WMG’s internal TuneCore rival, Level Music.

Kreidich reports directly to Max Lousada, CEO of Warner Recorded Music.

As the new head of ADA, Kreidich succeeds Eliah Seton, who has taken on a new role outside of the Warner Music Group after more than a decade in the company.

Seton’s exit from Warner is a shock: the New York-based manager has been one of the most influential executives at WMG since moving to major in 2009 as Director of Business Development – a role in which he was directly involved in the course of the sale from WMG worth $ 3.3 billion to Len Blavatniks Access Industries in 2011.

From then until his last position at Warner – President of Independent Music & Creator Services – Seton has worked closely with WMG’s C-suite, including the company’s CEO Steve Cooper.

Prior to joining ADA in 2015, Seton played a key role in developing WMG’s emerging markets strategy, including outstanding M&A actions in China and Eastern Europe, in collaboration with former WMG von International CEO Stu Bergen.

In her new role, Cat Kreidich will be promoted from her position as ADA’s EVP, which she was appointed to late last year.

Kreidich joined ADA from Sony Music. There she was SVP, Commerce for the major’s global catalog, and directed digital and physical commercial activities for Mariah Carey, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, and others.

“In the short time since Cat returned to ADA, she has inspired everyone with her passion and creativity, her deep dedication to the indie community and her extensive global expertise. She is the ideal choice to lead ADA into the future. “

Prior to this position, Kreidich worked for The Orchard for almost eight years as SVP for account management, advertising and data analysis. There she led a global team that she reorganized and strategically positioned at a time of rapid global expansion. She also founded The Orchard’s Commercial Insights team.

Kreidich previously held various other roles in the industry, including Ultra Records, Caroline Distribution, Virgin Records, and Motown Records.

Max Lousada said, “At Warner we are empowering the way we serve original artists and entrepreneurs at every stage of career development. As part of this mission, ADA is a beacon of expertise and support for independent artists and independent labels around the world.

“Building on the great foundation and world-class teams that Eliah has built, I focus on using our insights to find new and disruptive ways to enlarge the visions of musicians and creators around the world.”

Seton said, “Cat is an absolute superstar. I am delighted to welcome her in this crucial role for WMG’s future, and I will cheer her on as she takes the company to even greater heights.

“It is a bittersweet moment as I leave my Warner family, grateful and proud of everything we have achieved together, but I look forward to what lies ahead and share my next chapter with everyone very soon. I want to thank Len, Steve, and Max for the extraordinary opportunities they have given me. “
