He will join the company in August and take up his new role in early October, replacing Iñigo Zabala, who is stepping down from his role as President for Latin America and Iberia after more than 30 years with Warner Music.

Duque joins Warner Music from Universal Music, where he has spent the past 15 years, most recently as Managing Director of Universal Music Latin.

He will be based in Miami and report to Simon Robson, President, International, Recorded Music, Warner Music Group.

Zabala is stepping down from his current position but will continue to work as a consultant with Warner Music.

Guillermo Gonzalez, President of Warner Music Iberia, will report directly to Simon Robson following Zabala’s resignation.

Duque began his career with Universal Music in 2005, initially in Colombia as a digital and new media manager. In 2009 he moved to Argentina and took on the position of Director of Sales and Business Development.

In 2012 he was promoted to VP of Digital & Business Development, moving to Miami. Another promotion came in 2016 when he became General Manager of Universal Music Latin.

In this role, he managed UMG’s Latin labels in the United States, including Universal Music Latin, Capitol Latin and Machete Music.

“I want to do more to support talent from our region and help our artists take their rightful place on the global stage.”
